Ptarmigan is a sprayable, single-color pressure-sensitive paint designed for unsteady pressure field measurements where fast temporal response is the top priority. The large separation between 405 nm excitation and red emission centered at 650 nm supports effective optical filtering and clean signal isolation. Before use, users should verify that their wind tunnel windows and optical access components sufficiently transmit 405 nm excitation light.
