Teal is a sprayable, single-color temperature-sensitive paint designed for quantitative surface temperature mapping in aerodynamic and heat transfer research. Its broad excitation band (350–500 nm, peak at 445 nm) accommodates a wide variety of UV and blue light sources, offering flexibility in experimental setup without the need for a dedicated narrow-band illumination system. The orange emission centered at 600 nm provides clear spectral separation from the excitation band, enabling effective optical filtering with standard longpass optics. With a temperature sensitivity of −1.8 %/K, Teal delivers a reliable luminescent response suitable for a range of measurement conditions. Use with the companion Screen Layer for Teal white base coat is recommended to maximize signal intensity and measurement accuracy.
