Thrasher is a sprayable heater coating system designed to visualize laminar–turbulent transition and flow separation, especially in subsonic flow. The coating stack consists of four functional layers: insulation, heater, screen, and temperature-sensitive paint (TSP). By producing a controlled temperature difference between the model surface and the flow, Thrasher enables clear thermal visualization of boundary-layer behavior in wind tunnel testing. It is available as a standalone heater coating or bundled with Teal™ TSP for a complete measurement stack.
